Formulating the basic setting of performance management - “the higher the productivity of... everyone, the more effective the activities of the entire organization,” the authors talk about the history, goals, philosophy and principles of performance management, the mutual influence of this system and the company’s key values, as well as its impact on the productivity of the organization.

The book also discusses possible approaches to such issues as: performance appraisal; assessment of employee achievements; ranking employees depending on their individual contribution to the common cause; individual employee development plan; parameters for measuring human capital, etc.
