The Middle Ages were a time of quite serious conceptual changes and transformations for Jewish culture. It was during this period that Judaism truly encountered the Greek literary (primarily philosophical) heritage through translations and adaptations in Arabic. Jews began to... produce theological and philosophical works. The complex process of adapting and interpreting the philosophical tradition took place in Jewish culture differently than in Muslim and Christian contexts. Initially, most works were written by Jewish authors in Arabic, starting from the 13th century - in Hebrew. The proposed anthology of texts by Jewish authors will help create an impression of the development of philosophical-theological thought from the 10th to the 15th centuries. The book may be useful not only for students studying the history of philosophy, culture, and religion but also for anyone interested in medieval culture.
