labor. Despite the cruelty that surrounded him, Thomas did not lose his will to live and sought light where it seemed impossible to find. He became determined and detailed what was happening in the German concentration camps of Auschwitz. The drawings did not survive, but after almost two years spent in inhuman conditions, Thomas was liberated and began to draw again what he had gone through. The book contains 26 drawings. In my memories, I shed light on the cruelty and evil of a world that no one should have known about — but historical justice prevailed. However, the most important thing is that they tell about life in the camps. How we, the prisoners, survived and tried not to lose hope, grasping at every glimmer of humanity and kindness in those around us and in ourselves, surrounded by total cruelty. At the center of all this unfolded a unique story about us, the young ones, who were destined to grow up and be shaped in the camps, cherishing the strength of unity, friendship, and hope. Thomas Giv
