"The Odyssey of Captain Blood" undoubtedly ranks among the best adventure novels ever written in the history of world literature. The tale of a noble daredevil who, by the will of fate, finds himself at the helm of a pirate crew has captivated readers for many years with its thrilling plot and impeccable depiction of historical realities.

The book includes the first twelve chapters of the novel, in which Dr. Peter Blood manages to make a breathtaking journey from a cozy room in a mansion in southern England to the captain's bridge on a captured Spanish ship, heading "to the kingdom of freedom" on Tortuga Island.
