1938. Young Genie lives in Krakow a life full of music, dance, and dreams of studying at the conservatory. Meeting the young musician Felix seems to be the beginning of a happy life — but the war shatters their world, separating the lovers and sending Genie to Auschwitz and Felix to Dachau.
In the camp, where any display of involvement could cost a life, Felix carves a tiny heart from his shoe with a photo and a note and tries to pass it to Auschwitz. For this sign to reach Genie, risky decisions were needed on both sides of the wire: some broke the rules, continuing to see humanity in the prisoners, while others resolved to trust and ask for help, risking their lives.
Found many years later, this heart becomes the key to family memory and the voice of a generation that survived the Holocaust. «The Heart of Auschwitz» — a story of how love, friendship, and mutual aid can arise even where, seemingly, there is no room for humanity.
