Katia dedicates herself entirely to raising her little son Stepa. The boy hardly speaks, is afraid of other children and strangers. The whole world for him is – his mom and his favorite toy cars, which he is ready to arrange in neat lines for hours.
Katia's husband cannot withstand the challenges of fatherhood and leaves, leaving her alone with her son's tantrums. After a series of medical consultations, Stepa is given a diagnosis with a question mark – "autistic spectrum disorder".
Not finding support in medical findings, Katia decides to fight for her son herself, relying on her maternal intuition.
Katia's story is not a story of healing a child from autism, but a story of finding support and healing from loneliness.
"But that's not certain" – a poignant and sincere novel about maternal love and the fact that the toughest challenges can be endured when you find those who walk beside you on the same difficult road, and that true happiness is built on love and the ability to accept not only others but also oneself.
