Italy in the Renaissance era, the 1490s. Young Cesare Borgia is called from his studies at the university in Rome by his father Rodrigo Borgia, who has just been elected Pope. At the same time, a shadow of a global... conflict looms over Italy: the attention of the major world powers - France and Spain - is directed towards Naples, and Europe is preparing for a great war. Realizing the weakness of Rome, Rodrigo strengthens his position and forms political alliances through the marital unions of his children, while Cesare is destined to become a cardinal despite his dreams of a military career. He is forced to quickly adapt to a world of dangerous intrigues, where everyone pursues their own interests.
