The First to Die in the End

July 31, 2010. A new organization called the Department of Death, which can predict the demise of any person, has just begun operations.

Two guys — Orion Pagan, a native New Yorker with a serious heart condition, and Valentino Prince, a budding model who has just arrived in the Big Apple — meet at the premiere of the Department in Times Square.

But the very first call from the mysterious organization changes everything for them: one of the guys learns that he could die today, while the other’s life will never be the same after an extraordinary and poignant day.
