Mythogenic Love of Casts in Comics

The novel Mythogenic Love of Casts by Sergey Anufriev and Pavel Pepperstein, released on the border of the nineties and the early 2000s, revolutionized Russian-language prose and became cult-like. Now, more than twenty years after its publication, the novel takes... on a new form in the guise of a comic book, created through the joint efforts of over thirty magnificent graphic artists. According to the conception of Pavel Pepperstein and artist Sonia Stereostyrski, each invited author created their own vision of the events in the novel by illustrating a comic based on one of its chapters. The comic can captivate with its thousand qualities, but it is interesting to us primarily because it represents a fusion of literature and drawing — a fusion that makes a preliminary yet decisive step towards cinematography before the viewer's eyes.
