Mythogenic Love of Castes in Comics

The novel Mythogenic Love of Castes by Sergey Anufriev and Pavel Pepperstein, published on the border of the nineties and the early 2000s, revolutionized Russian-language prose and became cult-like. Now, more than twenty years after its publication, the novel is... taking on a new form in the guise of a comic book, created collaboratively by over thirty magnificent graphic artists. According to the concept of Pavel Pepperstein and artist Sonia Stereostyrski, each invited author has created their vision of the events of the novel by illustrating a comic based on one of its chapters. The comic can captivate with its thousand qualities, but it is primarily interesting to us as it represents a fusion of literature and drawing—a fusion that, before the viewer's eyes, makes a preliminary yet decisive step toward cinematography.
