Mark Fisher (1968–2017) — a well-known British cultural theorist, essayist, blogger, and music critic. He gained fame thanks to his work "Capitalist Realism," published in 2009 during the height of the global financial crisis, as well as his blog "k-Punk," where he subjected the events of cultural, political, and social life to ruthless critical reflection.
In addition to political and cultural journalism, Fisher significantly influenced music criticism in the 2000s, being a regular author for the UK’s leading intellectual music magazine "The Wire." He was the one who popularized the concept of "hauntology," borrowed from Jacques Derrida. The book "Ghosts of My Life" was published in 2014. This
authorial collection summarizes all the themes of Fisher's intellectual inquiries: he reflects on the crisis of historicity, cultural nostalgia for an unfulfilled future, and describes the tension between the personal and the political, at the epicenter of which lies popular music.
