The New Testament. Biblical Translations

The translation of the New Testament with brief comments, carried out by the renowned Russian biblical scholar A. Desnitsky, on one hand, maintains continuity with the tradition (especially in terminology), and on the other hand aims to convey the dynamism, rhetorical richness, and stylistic diversity of the original in modern Russian. Its main principle is not to copy Greek syntax but to find constructions in contemporary Russian that are suitable for conveying the thought and style of the original. This is particularly noticeable in the Epistles, which make up 21 out of 27 books of the New Testament.
