Morning of Acmeism. On Poetry and Culture

This book includes selected articles by the great poet, prose writer, and translator Osip Mandelstam, dedicated to poetry, aesthetics, and the history of literature.  In them, the author reveals his vision of acmeism as a literary phenomenon, as well as examining the works of such authors as Dante, François Villon, and others. It seems that Mandelstam's essays and sketches operate according to the same special poetic laws as the 'examined' works.
