Ai Wei (1966) is the author of numerous novels and stories for which he has received prestigious awards. Many of his works have made it to the annual list of the best novels by the “Chinese Prose Society.” The writer’s works have been translated into foreign languages.

The novella “Love is to Blame,” which took three years to complete (2002-2005), was published in 2011 and immediately attracted the attention of literary critics as it raised sharp social issues.
