Sabika — is a crown that stars would dream of adorning. And the Alhambra (God save it!) — is the ruby at the top of this crown.
Ibn Zamrak (1333–1393)
In the city of Granada on the hill of Al-Sabika (which translates from Arabic as 'ingot of gold') the Nasrid dynasty (1232–1492) built one of the most impressive palace complexes in history — the Alhambra. Behind its two-kilometer wall, the palaces of classical Islamic architecture have been well preserved.
In the game 'Sabika' you will become an aristocrat during the reign of the Nasrid dynasty, contributing to the construction of towers, gardens, and palaces of the Alhambra, as well as decorating its walls, arches, and fountains with beautiful verses. You will also need to establish and strengthen trade relations with Europe, the Maghreb, and the Middle East to earn enough money to pay the tribute imposed on you by the Catholic Kings. The game ends in 1492 with the inevitable fall of Granada under the onslaught of Christians. Your goal is to enter history as the most influential companion of the Nasrid dynasty of your time.
'Sabika' is a classic Eurogame with a fresh mechanic of three interconnected rondels, each responsible for a separate gameplay aspect. Thanks to this, you have a wide choice of planning and development paths, and thus,
ways to achieve victory.
Over 5 rounds, you will move your workers along the rondels, choosing the actions you will perform. Each of the three rondels is dedicated to a separate process: the construction of the Alhambra, engraving verses on the walls of its halls, and exporting goods through trade routes. At the end of each round, tribute is paid, the Sultan's wishes are checked, and events that change some game rules may also be triggered. At the end of the fifth round, an additional calculation of prestige points will be made, after which the winner of the game will be determined.
The goal is to earn prestige points (PP) necessary to achieve victory.
The game supports solo mode, where you can compete against the automa Yusuf, who will rival you for prestige and fame in the history of the Granada emirate.
