Quantum Mechanics and the Paradoxes of Consciousness

Aleksei Petrovich Nikonov – the author of more than two dozen artistic and popular science books. Being on the verge of becoming a candidate of sciences, he abandoned his already written dissertation and left science first for journalism, and then for writing, where he achieved considerable success: he became a laureate of the awards of the Union of Journalists of Russia (2001) and the Union of Journalists of Moscow (2002). For his contribution to domestic culture, he was awarded the Pushkin Medal (1999), and for the book "Upgrade of the Monkey" he received the Belyaev Prize (2005).
In his new book, the author talks about the mysterious world of quantum mechanics – the most astonishing, difficult to explain, and least understood chapter in the book of physics. Quantum mechanics is known not only for studying the very foundation of the universe, that is, the basis of our world, but it is also the first branch of physics where modern science faced the observer, that is, consciousness. Therefore, a consideration of this science is impossible without a considerable share of existentialism and metaphysics – attempts to understand what consciousness, being, and reality essentially are. In world literature, there have been no attempts to answer of this kind that the author offers. This is an absolutely new perspective on the philosophy of quantum mechanics.
