Jekyll and Hyde

"Jekyll and Hyde" is a graphic adaptation of the most famous fantasy work by R.L. Stevenson. The novella "Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" (1886) was printed in tens of thousands of copies in the first months after its publication, was discussed in leading newspapers and magazines, had theatrical productions based on it, and was the subject of sermons in churches. It has firmly entered the world canon of fantasy, and its characters continue to be an integral part of culture today. The authors of the comic adaptation, artist Lorenzo Mattotti and writer Jerry Kramsky, have fully paid tribute to the original work. With the help of rich colors, deceptive shadows, and abstract figures that transform before your eyes into both humans and beasts, they created a disturbing, frightening atmosphere that reflects the very essence of Stevenson's novella - the duality of human nature. In 2003, the book was awarded the Will Eisner Award.
