Jekyll and Hyde

«Jekyll and Hyde» - a graphic adaptation of the most famous fantasy work of R. L. Stevenson. The novella «Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde» (1886) was published in tens of thousands of copies within months, it was... discussed in leading newspapers and magazines, theatrical performances were staged based on it, and sermons were dedicated to it in churches. It has firmly entered the world fund of fantasy literature, and its characters continue to be an integral part of culture even today.
The authors of the comic adaptation, artist Lorenzo Mattotti and writer Jerry Kramsky, fully paid tribute to the original source. Using rich colors, deceptive shadows, and abstract figures that transform before our eyes into either people or beasts, they created a disturbing, frightening atmosphere that reflects the very essence of Stevenson’s novella - the duality of human nature.
In 2003, the book became a laureate of the Will Eisner Award.
