During the editing process, numerous Old Testament quotes and references included in the New Testament were taken into account, as well as the stylistic peculiarities of the Old Testament. The main focus of the translation and editing was on conveying the correct meaning of each passage. After the release of the «New Translation into Russian» in 2007, many comments and suggestions were considered by revision editors. In this version of the translation, which was completed in December 2012, many changes and corrections were made. A distinctive feature of this translation was the desire to preserve the phrasing closest to the original language in Russian and to use modern language understandable to most contemporary readers. The text of the translation was also to possess excellent literary quality so that it could be used in worship services, educational institutions, and for individual reading. Furthermore, the team of translators and editors aimed to maintain continuity in the traditions of translating Scripture into the Russian language.
