The book by Anna Larina-Bukharyna “Unforgettable” is a living testimony of the harsh times of Stalin's rule. Her life changed dramatically in 1937 when she was recognized as a CSIR member — a member of a traitor to the homeland. Her husband, the famous party leader Nikolai Bukharin, was arrested, convicted, and executed. Anna Larina-Bukharyna went through repression, many years of separation from her son, and the hell of the GULAG.
The book features memorable portraits of Bukharin, Trotsky, Kamenev, Zinoviev, Pyatakov, Rykov, Tomsky, Radek, Ordzhonikidze, Kalinin, Voroshilov, Yagoda, Yezhov, Beria, and other representatives of the highest echelons of power in the Soviet Union. She had known some of them since childhood.
Impressive pages are also dedicated to the “family members of traitors to the homeland” — including the wives and children of prominent Soviet military leaders Tukhachevsky, Yakir, Uborevich, who shared the fate of the author of this book.
