The new collected works of Heinrich Sapgir is an attempt not only to gather together a large part of the writings of the remarkable Russian poet and prose writer of the second half of the 20th century, but also to create some integral image of this unique (even for this period of our literature) universal writer. He not only wrote with equal pleasure for adults and for children but also seemed to embody in his words the Larianov-Goncharov concept of "everything-ness": the connection of all known ideas, styles, and techniques of contemporary writing, which are both radically avant-garde and deeply rooted in the most profound national tradition and lead a constant provocative dialogue with it. The first volume of the collection "Voices" includes diverse works by Heinrich Sapgir, united by the idea of dialogue - with predecessors and contemporaries, with social linguistic models and metaphysical forces. Sapgir acts both as a conversationalist-opponent and as a translator of foreign languages, as well as an artist-researcher of human (and non-human) polyphony.
