With the onset of the pandemic, the main character moves from the capital to Chuvashia for a year, to his wife's relatives, and finds himself in an unfamiliar world governed by its own internal laws. Observing his little son, who... understands and simultaneously does not understand his parents' native languages — Russian and Chuvash — the hero involuntarily compares himself to the child, exploring the local way of life and trying to adapt to the unfamiliar mentality and new pace of life. This story, written in a leisurely Shukshin-style manner, is filled with funny dialogues and paradoxical encounters. Here the serious coexists with the absurd, and the boundaries of the reasonable seem fluid, resonating with the fleeting COVID reality.
