On Nature

Heraclitus of Ephesus - an ancient Greek philosopher, the founder of dialectics - the doctrine of contradictions that form the basis of any thing or concept. His only work, "On Nature", has not survived in full and has reached us only in fragments - thanks to other ancient authors who used quotes and paraphrases from this treatise in their texts. Far from always understandable, filled with mysterious wisdom, Heraclitus's statements have intrigued philosophers and scholars for many centuries. In this book, the fragments of "On Nature" are accompanied by comments from philosopher and Doctor of Philological Sciences Alexander Markov - he not only introduces the reader to the established tradition of interpreting Heraclitus but also reflects on his own interpretation of each fragment.
