The Book of Five Rings. Gorin-no Sho. The Path of Strategy

Miyamoto Musashi is a legendary figure. A warrior, sword master, and besides that, an artist, sculptor, and calligrapher, he left behind a written work that occupies an important place in the history of Japanese culture. 

Musashi held his first duel at the age of thirteen. 

Throughout his life, he emerged victorious in a vast number of duels and participated in six wars, until finally, at the age of fifty, he began to sum up his experiences. 

His brief but substantial "Gorin-no Sho", or "The Book of Five Rings", is a sort of compendium on the art of the sword and a treatise on strategy.
