Fleeing from the Nazi invasion, the family ends up in evacuation. 

Several years later, Itzik, now calling himself Caesar, returns to his ancestral home, but instead of the clock collection finds only ruins. 

This loss will push him into a scheme that the newspapers will call “The Elegant Robbery”.

Decades later, Designer Zhora will make his entrance. He is also known as Georges, Georg, Jurgen, Shchors — depending on the country of residence. 

But for now, he is just a strange orphan boy Zhorca. 

Fate will bring him together with the elderly Caesar Adamovich, who now works as a mechanic-laboratory assistant in a leprosarium. Their lives will be connected by the secret of one collection.
