Teacher Louise Kearns is raising her autistic son and working as a film critic, trying to make ends meet. One day at a private screening, she finds a strange film with a fragment of a silent movie and connects it... with the personality of Mrs. Iris Dunlop Whitcomb, a socialite and folklore collector who mysteriously vanished from a closed train compartment in 1918. Hoping to bolster her academic career, Louise decides to prove that Whitcomb was the first woman in Canada to become a film director. But the deeper she dives into her research, the more she realizes that the history of experimental film is closely intertwined with a strange legend about Miss Noon, a demon or ghost who always gets her due.
