In January 2003, the main character of the book found a postcard from an anonymous sender in her mailbox. One side was decorated with an image of the Paris Opera building, while the other side bore the names of the... narrator's great-grandmother and great-grandfather on her mother's side, along with two other relatives who died in Auschwitz in 1942. Twenty years later, the heroine decides to find out who sent this postcard. In knowing the world, don’t forget to know yourself... This is a very simply written book. But it is a family saga, a historical detective story, and an experience of social psychotherapy all at once! There will be many celebrities and a bunch of obscure characters, generously experiencing the anxieties and hopes of the 20th century. They will travel the world, hide, save someone, be sacrificed by others. Disappear and be reborn in their descendants. Such a story is not easy to translate! Traveling with the characters across the map of Europe and the world, we checked every landscape, every melody, scent, quote, biography... So that the reader could feel the spirit of the time and realize himself as its heir, and in knowing the world, know himself.
