The Silver Age... An amazing period in the history of national culture, which began in the late 19th century and was interrupted by the October Revolution.

It was a time of intellectual revelations and social upheavals that received a wide response in art and literature. Alongside the masterpieces of Alexander Blok and Anna Akhmatova, Sergei Yesenin and Marina Tsvetaeva, the reader will find in the collection poems by dozens of other masters of verse — from the philosopher Vladimir Solovyov to the eccentric and ego-futurist Konstantin Olympov.

Before you is a kind of lyrical diary of the era, which, in the words of Nikolai Otsupa, «in terms of strength and energy, as well as in abundance of astonishing creations, has almost no analogy in the West: it is as if phenomena compressed into three decades, which took, for example, all of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century in France».

The publication is accompanied by a detailed preface by critic and literary historian Valery Shubinsky.
