The Diary of Anne Frank

"The Diary of Anne Frank" is a documentary artifact about the attempts to survive in a "secret shelter" during World War II, written by a thirteen-year-old Jewish girl. Anne Frank was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1929. After Adolf Hitler came to power, her family was forced to flee to the Netherlands to escape from the Gestapo, but their troubles did not end there. Day by day, the entries recount the most sincere and intimate events in the life of Anne herself and other Jewish families during the occupation. The diary was first published in 1947, but Anne Frank herself died in a concentration camp in March 1945, and her childhood writings, far from a childhood fate, have become a significant symbol of remembrance of human atrocities.
