Day by day, the entries recount the most sincere and intimate events in the life of Anne herself and other Jewish families during the occupation. The diary was first published in 1947, but Anne Frank herself died in a concentration camp in March 1945, and her childhood writings, far from a childhood fate, have become a significant symbol of remembrance of human atrocities.
