Smoke Tree

This is the story of Skip Sands — a spy, an employee of the Psychological Operations Department, operating in Vietnam — and all the misfortunes that await him because of his famous uncle Skip, a war veteran known in intelligence circles simply as The Colonel. It is also the story of the Houston brothers, Bill and James, whom fate has carried from the Arizona desert to war, where the line between disinformation and madness has completely blurred, and separating truth from illusion is practically impossible. This is a story of secret organizations, the madness of the jungle, and endless solitude, unlike anything in contemporary American literature.
