Lost in the Jungle. The First Published Investigative Book on the Horrific Disappearance of Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon

In April 2014, the Panamanian police received a report about the disappearance of two girls from the Netherlands – Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon, who went for a walk on the popular tourist route "El Pianista Trail." Despite extensive searches, the remains of their bodies were only found several months later, and the discovered evidence sparked numerous theories regarding their mysterious deaths.

Investigators were shocked by the photos on Lisanne's camera, found along with other belongings in the backpack. It contained 133 images taken from April 1 to 8, and the former head of the Dutch investigation team, Frank van de Goot, described the night photos as "ominous" and compared them to a horror movie.

Conflicting witness testimonies, criticism of the Panamanian authorities, and numerous discrepancies turned this case into one of the most high-profile – this disappearance continues to be studied by investigators, journalists, and the girls' relatives. Why has the investigation dragged on for so long? What versions of the events exist? What really happened to Kris and Lisanne on this fateful journey?
