Daniil Alexandrovich Granin 1919–2017 – one of the largest domestic writers, author of documentary chronicles, numerous stories, novellas, and novels. Miraculously surviving in Nazi Germany and in the GULAG, he not only survived but also laid the foundations of radiation biology and genetics.
