Isabelle Graw - professor of theory and history of art at the Hochschule für Bildende Kunst "Städel" (Frankfurt), curator and publisher of the critical journal Texte zur Kunst. In her new book, a collection of autofictional texts, Isabelle turns not... to external plots, but to something quite intimate, attempting to overcome the pain of losing her parents and the anxiety of foreseeing an impending catastrophe through writing. However, the fixation on everyday life and subjective observations paradoxically returns the narrator to the external, but transformed by personal experience "another world". In her masterfully sketched notes, reminiscent of the mythologies of Roland Barthes, Graw captures the radical political, social, and cultural changes that occurred between 2014 and 2017, analyzing how these macro-shifts affected her own life.
