Education and Development of Personality in a Collective. A.S. Makarenko

This collection includes works of the outstanding Soviet educator and writer A.S. Makarenko (1888–1939), which will help the reader tackle the task of a new reading and rethinking of his creative legacy. The main themes of the works included in the collection are as follows: education and development of personality, pedagogical logic, personality program, personality and collective, the mastery of the educator, pedagogy of real humanism. The material of the collection is grouped by sections. The section opens with excerpts from the «Pedagogical Poem» — the main book of the educator-artist, which serves as a kind of encyclopedia of pedagogical ideas of Anton Semyonovich. Then, excerpts from articles, lectures, and other oral presentations of the educator are included in the section. In them, the same ideas are presented and deciphered in an analytical form, convincingly and persuasively. In the concluding part of the section, where possible, selected materials from Makarenko's correspondence are placed.
