To Have or To Be?

Erich Fromm is one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century, part of the great cohort of philosophers from psychology and a spiritual leader of the Frankfurt School of Sociology. The works of Erich Fromm are always relevant, as the main theme of his research was the unveiling of human nature as the realization of a productive, life-creating principle. In his famous work To Have or To Be, Erich Fromm vividly demonstrates the consequences of relationships formed on the principle of You – me, I – you, and attempts to answer the question that ultimately arises for everyone: what is more important – the possession of material culture objects or true, meaningful being, when a person truly lives each moment of their life, realizing and enjoying it in all its fullness?<\/p>
