In the game "Trimino" there are 56 triangular dominoes. Each corner of the die has a value from 0 to 5. These numbers go in a clockwise direction in non-decreasing order, for example, 0 – 1 – 4, or 2 – 2 – 5. It is this order of value arrangement that determines the number of dice, each of which is unique. The geometry of the dominoes and the arrangement of values dictate the rules for their placement on the table – a die can be placed in such a way that 2 values on its side match with 2 values of the die to which it is laid.
How to play
Unlike classic dominoes, in the game "Trimino" players need to score the maximum number of points, which they receive for laying down the dice, as well as for forming figures – bridges and hexagons.
Before the game begins, all dominoes are shuffled face down and each player takes a certain number of tokens – if 2 people are playing, then 9 each, and if 3 or 4, then 7 each. The remaining tokens form a reserve. Players take turns. The player who will make the first move is determined by drawing a token from the reserve. The player who draws the token with the highest value goes first and lays one of their tokens in the center of the table. The other players, on their turn, lay dice next to the already placed tokens on the table. Each token laid on the table brings the player points equal to the sum of the digits on the trimino.
If a player cannot make a move with their tokens, they buy additional tokens from the reserve. Each purchase deducts 5 points from the player. In one turn, a player may buy no more than 3 tokens. If the player cannot lay any of them on the table, the turn passes to the next player, and the player who skipped their turn loses 10 penalty points.
A round ends when one of the players has laid down their last token. As a reward for this, they also receive 25 additional points. The winner is the one who manages to score the highest number of points.
