to become the strongest feudal lord in Karlstown.
The game board in the board game «Karlstown» consists of two parts. The central part is a track where players move pieces to collect cards. Around the perimeter is a scoring area, which is used in the final stage of the game to determine the winner.
Objective of the game:
To collect as many cards as possible and lay them out in front of yourself in such a way as to score the most points. The game ends when the game cards in both decks run out.
Preparing for the game:
Cut the cards along the dotted line. There should be a total of 80 cards: 60 territory cards (with a castle on the back) and 20 resident cards (with medieval characters on the back). Divide the resulting cards into two decks and shuffle them thoroughly. Place them next to the game board face down.
Players choose their pieces and place them on the starting spaces with the coats of arms (one piece starts the game on each space). Try to remember the color of the coat of arms from which you started the game.
To determine the order of play, players take turns rolling the dice. The player who rolls the highest number goes first, followed by the others clockwise.
Gameplay:
On their turn, a player rolls the dice and moves their piece along the board by the rolled number of spaces. The piece can be moved in any direction, both clockwise and counterclockwise. It is also possible to transition to inner and outer circles from adjacent spaces in any direction.
Depending on the space where the piece lands, the player performs actions according to the instructions.
The cards obtained are placed on the game table in front of the player to earn the maximum score.
End of the game:
The game ends when all territory and resident cards are laid out in front of the players. The players' pieces are moved to the scoring counter around the game board to the «100» space (which also represents «0»). For each point scored, players move their piece the corresponding number of spaces. The winner is the one who scores the most points.
