Skyjo — an engaging and dynamic card game for the whole family. Suitable for both adults and children, it provides lively interaction and excitement throughout the entire round.
The game is played over several rounds and ends as soon as a...
player scores 100 or more points. The player with the least points wins. Thus, the goal of this game is to avoid high cards as much as possible.
Preparing for the game:
First, each player is dealt 12 cards face down from a well-shuffled deck. Then, an open card is placed in the center of the table, which forms the discard pile. The remaining deck is placed next to it face down. Each player arranges their 12 cards in four columns, with 3 cards in each. Then, each player reveals any two of their cards.
Beginning a new round:
The player with the highest sum of points from their two open cards has the right to start the first round. The player who finishes the current round has the right to start the next round.
Game process:
The game begins with drawing a card. The player has a choice - to take the top open card from the discard pile or the top hidden card from the deck. If they choose the open discard card, they must replace it with one of their cards, which they reveal. They may choose one of the open or hidden cards. Hidden cards cannot be flipped over or viewed. The exchanged card is revealed and placed. If the player chooses a hidden card from the deck, they can look at it and decide if they want to exchange it for one of their hidden or open cards. If they take it, they proceed as described above. If they do not want to keep the drawn card, they must place it in the discard pile and reveal one of their hidden cards. Their turn ends, and play passes to the next player in a clockwise direction. The round of the game concludes as soon as a player reveals all their cards. After that, each subsequent player has one more turn. Then, the points from the open and hidden cards of each player are summed and added to their current score. The player who finished the round must have the lowest total points for that round. If their score is not the lowest (i.e., another player has fewer points or the same score), the points they scored in that round are doubled.
Attention: this rule applies only to positive points and not to zero or negative points.
Ending the game:
At the end of each round, the points of each player are added to their current score. The game ends as soon as one of the players scores 100 or more points. The player with the lowest score wins.
