Holy Nicholas the Wonderworker. Life, Miracles, Relics

For his merciful and compassionate heart, he was granted numerous spiritual gifts from God. The life of Saint Nicholas is filled with various miracles and instances of help, both during his life and after his departure from the earth. Participating in the I Ecumenical Council, he rebuked the impious Arius and, in a surge of zeal, even struck him on the face. For this, he was punished but soon justified by the command of the Most Holy Theotokos, who appeared to several fathers of the Council.

Saint Nicholas is one of the most venerated saints in Russia; travelers pray to him for help in various life difficulties, for the well-being of children, for entering into marriage, and for healing.
