The planned "fake robbery" by Fantasio for a grand report for "Komarik" turned into their real involvement in a genuine, not imagined crime with Spirou. Competitors sniffed out that the engineers of the company "Turbo" had created a revolutionary model...
called "TurboTurbo." Hoping to seize the blueprints of the new car, the criminals set off an explosion at the factory. However, their plan failed: one part of the blueprints accidentally fell into the hands of Spirou and Fantasio, while the second, main part, was taken to North Africa by a Racer from "Turbo" named Marten. Spirou and Fantasio fly to Bab-el-Bred, unaware that the bandits have already tracked them and are keeping them on a string. With great difficulty, the friends shake off their pursuers and reach the town of M'Saragba. There they learn that Marten had to give the blueprints to the son of the chief of the Wakuku tribe so that they wouldn't fall into the hands of gangsters. And now the heroes must find the tiny capsule with the microfilm across the vast African savanna...
The spirited boy Spirou, dressed in a bright red groom's suit, first appeared on the cover of the eponymous magazine in 1938, and he is a true legend of the Franco-Belgian comic. For 85 years, together with his friend, tireless journalist Fantasio, and his faithful companion, a clever squirrel named Spip, he has traveled the world, investigated mysterious events, saved those in trouble, restored justice, and punished villains, making thousands of amazing discoveries along the way. The series of his adventures comprises over 50 volumes, and the opportunity to draw at least one story about Spirou is an honor for the best comic artists in Europe.
A significant event in Spirou's fate was his meeting with André Franquin (1924–1997). The talented artist worked on the series for almost a quarter of a century and elevated it to the level of a masterpiece of the 9th art. Eight of Franquin's best albums, including "Spirou and the Heirs," "The Marsupilami Thieves," "The Bad Head," "The Moray Eel's Lair," and "The Marsupilami's Nest," are being published in Russian for the first time.
