Why do we trust people? Some — because we know them well. Others — because we don't know them at all. 
Vera Kholodova endlessly trusted her partner Sergei Kuznetsov! And how did he repay her? The couple lived soul to soul. Sergei gave gifts, bought a puppy and a kitten, promised Vera a real wedding. And just recently, returning from work, Vera discovers suitcases with her belongings outside her house. Nearby are the kitten and puppy tied to a bench, along with a note that says: «I will be back! I give you my word! But for now, go back to your place…» 
Kholodova turns to the special brigades office asking to locate her beloved. Tatiana Sergeyeva and Dimon Korobkov begin the investigation. The detectives learn that the man often changed phone numbers and was not always honest with Vera. It is likely that he was not at all who he claimed to be. But during the investigation, it turns out that Sergei is not the first «missing» man in Kholodova's life, and the matter may be much more serious than it seems at first glance.
