Russian Saints. Nun Thais

This edition is a unique collection of the lives of Russian saints, created in the second half of the 20th century by the resident of the Pokrov Convent in France, nun Thais (in the world - Tatiana Georgievna Kartseva, 1896-1995).... Mother Thais spent most of her life far from her homeland, in emigration, where in her free time from monastic duties she carefully collected testimonies about the saints who "shone in the Russian land," their spiritual trials and exploits, as well as the miracles attributed to their prayers and intercessions. Her work has become a worthy continuation of the tradition of domestic hagiography: it includes lives from the early centuries of Christianity in Russia to modern times, including the stories of little-known ascetics, confessors, and new martyrs. The book compiled by the nun is organized according to the principle of the church calendar - the lives are arranged in accordance with the church calendar, with indications of the days of remembrance of the saints. The collection is supplemented with new materials and accompanied by a historical and geographical commentary.
