Visibility is Deceptive and Other Plays

A collection of plays by Austrian playwright Thomas Bernhard (1931–1989). Bernhard builds his theater on the ruins of theatrical convention inherited from Ionesco, Beckett, Genet, and Artaud, whose analytical work has made "normal" narrative and scenic action impossible. The new edition includes the comedy "Famous" (1976). The text is accompanied by a preface and notes by translator Mikhail Rudnitsky.
