This book is an exciting journey into the world of Russian literature, where the main character is the book itself. In the anthology by Yulia Shcherbinina, various stories are collected: from realistic sketches to mystical novellas, from satirical scenes to touching childhood memories. Five sections of the anthology will tell about the role the book played in the lives of different layers of society, how the book trade operated, where entire fortunes were paid for rare editions, and what legends gave books a mystical aura.
