To be honest, I had forgotten about them, but when I remembered and began to read, I couldn't tear myself away. These letters contained so much passion, so much anguish, so much joy… I never knew the man who wrote these letters, nor was I acquainted with the woman to whom they were addressed. But it seemed to me I could hear their voices, see their faces. And I can vividly imagine the feelings of my heroine, who, after the death of her beloved husband, discovered them — foreign letters that contained the very words she had waited for all her life…
