Vegetation

This time, Alexey Ivanov turned to science fiction. A team of loggers in an all-terrain vehicle is making its way through the dense forests of the Urals to an abandoned military site in the mysterious Yamantau mountain. The world around... them seems like ours, but somehow not entirely… The geography is real, however, the villages and towns are empty, the factories are dead, and the roads are overgrown with trees. And most importantly, the forest itself has changed. Its vegetation has been artificially accelerated for timber harvesting, and the forest has mutated. It lives its own life. It has turned against civilization: in its depths hide plague walkers — mad machines, and people here are losing their biological nature. However, is it only biological?.. The teams of loggers are no better than the world surrounding them: they are competitors to each other, and there is war between them.
The novel "Vegetation" is constructed according to the canons of many genres. It is a road movie — a story of a journey, an odyssey. It is post-apocalyptic — post-apocalypse. It is diesel-punk in the Russian backwoods. It is solid sci-fi — science fiction. The diverse species of dystopias resemble the mutagenic forest, however, "Vegetation" tells not about where the heroes are going, but about where we ourselves are heading.
