Prashkevich, like the cat in Kipling's tale, walks his own path. This is what sets him apart from most domestic fantasists. And also from non-fantasists. Boris Strugatsky accurately defined the human and literary essence of a writer: "diverse, knowledgeable, talented,... experienced." Here, "diverse" comes first. This is true. A writer must change. They say: they found their niche. A niche for a writer means death. It's the place where their urn stands, and where readers bring them mourning wreaths.
Prashkevich is constantly changing. This is a very important quality of his. Like restlessness, love for travel, walking, flights from continent to continent, stemming from youth, the first field experiences, the desire to learn the world through eyes, hands, skin, to chisel it with a geological hammer, to inhale its wind, salt, its smoke and fog, and all not idly, not for a tourist checkbox "Vasya was here," but all for a purpose, all for a future book.
The collection is composed of works by the author from different years.
The texts of many works included in the book are presented in a new authorial edition and differ in places significantly from previous publications.
