On Fate

The book contains three treatises by Cicero – "On the Nature of the Gods," "On Divination," and "On Fate," which occupy an important place in his educational program. In them, he provides a detailed and comprehensive critique of dominant superstitions, defines his attitude towards religion, and expresses his conviction that only what is proven either by strictly rational arguments or justified by historical practice should be accepted as credible.
