History of Rome

"The History of Rome" by Theodor Mommsen has long become a treasure of science. This encyclopedic work, translated into all major European languages, was first published in Russia back in 1858, in three bulky volumes. Half a century later, a shortened version, prepared by the historian N. D. Chechulin, was released. In this form, this book, having lost none of its merits, became available to all those interested in the history of European civilization.
